Day 161 | June 10 2007 | At the bowling alley

It was a Sunday, and we went with friends to the bowling alley. Thats Amoeba on Church Street, near Brigade Road, Bangalore.I know its not a good photo, but this is the only one I have for this day. Reason being that the battery conked off just after this pic, and I was not carrying the spare ones.

These are my friends from Pune who were visiting us in Bangalore. They are a cute couple and I think the chemistry between them is visible because of their great smiles!

Day 142 | May 22 2007 | Kangan..

Its fun to dress up in Indian traditional/ethnic clothes, which now a days can only be occasional. The occasion today.. family dinner at a friends home.

Thats my wife's 'Kangan' or bangle made from hard wax or 'lakh' as its locally called, decorated with tiny jewels and stones. The red cloth in the background is one of my favorite embroidered Kurta.

Day 134 | May 14 2007 | Auto Rickshaw (negative)

Was at a friends place for dinner and his son has a lot of toys. This is an auto rickshaw from his collection. Nothing unique about this, but just experimenting with negatives and high ISO noise photos.

Day 126 | May 06 2007 | Inside an IT training room

This week was hectic, with lots of trainings going on. Taken inside the training room of a popular IT training institute in Bangalore. Such institutes do good business training not only corporates, but also students who are fresh out of college.

The trainer was a bit perplexed after my colleague asked him a tough technical question. Funny? No. The 'trainer', we found out later, was a non technical person who has started his carrier working as a camera salesman in Dubai. He too did a technical course from an IT institute and was now riding the IT boom, teaching others. Now that's India Shining!

Day 116 | April 26 2007 | Chandani Chowk - Pune

Thats the view of speeding vehicles on the highway below, from Pune's Chandani Chowk. Joining Kothrud, NDA road, Pirangut Industrial area and Aundh, Chandani Chowk is Pune's famous hangout night spot. A host to more than 20 joints, hotels and specialty restaurants with great food, service and exotic names like 'Up and Above', 'Khana Peena Jeena', its a place for a lot of late night action.

Day 112 | April 22 2007 | Finger prints, Signatures and NDA's

It is strange that even in this age, one needs fingerprints on legal stuff. Not because someone cant sign, but because one may deny signing it...

Took these snaps of a colleague signing an agreement (NDA) just before attending an IT certification exam at the testing center.

That cool dude is Devi, aka DSP, aka Sardar of 'Eagle Gang'.. with his intense looks. This is out of a series of modeling shots taken at office. I had a chance to use the soft portrait setting of my Nikon D40 for this shot.

Day 110 | April 20 2007 | Liquor Chocolates .. Hick !

Now thats a drunk chocolate, which cant even stand straight. The blue one did not stand straight, no matter what. These are the last 4 of a batch of hundreds my friend got from his trip to the US. The liquor chocolates taste very good with the raw liquor inside, but they get over very very soon.

Day 106 | April 16 2007 | Hard Days Work - IT Engineer

Information Technology is still a major growth driver not only in India, but also in the Asian subcontinent. Thousands of new jobs are migrating into the Asian region. The reasons are obvious.. cheaper and higher quality outputs from the region. This is IT outsourcing to BPO's. India has revenues of 6.4 Billion USD from offshore BPO and 36 Billion USD from IT and total BPO. Now thats India Shining!!

That is Sandip, my colleague and friend working on a case with a North American customer, for a leading IT firm in Bangalore.

Day 90 | March 31 2007 | Reunion

It was a sweet surprise to hear from an old friend, who had come to town. He was going to be there only for the next hour. My other friends and I rushed to meet him, and it was a grand reunion with warm hugs and pats on the back. Meeting after many years brought back the good old memories of the good times spent together.

Day 89 | March 30 2007 | Beer - The Fuel

On this hot afternoon, a few friends and I decided to meet for lunch. I was late to reach the Rasoi Restaurant cum Fuel Pub in Koramangala, but was not surprised to see that my friends had already started their first round of beers. The chilled Kingfisher draught beer was really soothing this hot afternoon. It was todays Fuel!

Day 82 | March 23 2007 | Brigade Road - Trafic Cop

I was out with a couple of friends for a photo shoot; subject - Around Brigade Road and MG Road, Bangalore. This is the start of Brigade Road, a very busy intersection at any time of the day or night. Seen here is an over worked, lone Bangalore traffic cop.

Day 74 | March 15 2007 | Shiny Helmet

Four people in the room, four images on the shiny new helmet. Can you identify the people and the objects in the reflection? If not have a look at the notes here.

The photo looks over-exposed (it is), because the helmet was fully black in color, confusing the D40 metering system. I should have manually under-exposed it to get the other details.

Day 70 | March 11 2007 | Reflections

A colleague of mine bought a new Pulsar, and wanted snaps of him with it. After we were done with him, Sandip and I, the click crazy duo, started our experiments. I sneaked up behind Sandip, who was trying to catch the reflections in the shiny chrome plated back of an Innova's side-mirror. The colors of the sky makes a steep gradient in the reflection.

Day 69 | March 10 2007 | Yummy pastries

Yummy pastries prepared by my friend Manish Gaur, who is a very talented and sought after baker in Bangalore. He founded the Institute of Baking & Cake Art, which runs training courses. He also owns a popular joint called as Caramel. Do drop in sometime and check out his wonderful yummy creations.

I have used selective focusing here, focusing only on the foreground object, the white pineapple pastry here. The background objects, the black forest pastry and the valentines brochure look blurrier. Thats Depth-Of-Field.

Day 64 | Mar 05 2007 | F.R.I.E.N.D.S

On a one day bike trip to Shivagange, a trekking spot 60Km away from Bangalore, I was more than delighted to find monkeys in huge numbers. I clicked like crazy, offering (rather bribing) them with some chocolates. These 3 friends were just holding on to each other as if it was the end of the world.

Want to do some home improvement? Are you DIY enthusiasts? No better place than a nearby hardware store like this one to buy you things to get the job done. Everything from nails, water pipes, paints, sand papers, tools... you name it, they have it.

Taken outside a hardware store, the store keeper and my friends turn to look at some commotion going on on the road outside.
